Starting January 2023 under the HORIZON-MISS-2021-CANCER-02-03 call, Emoda is the sole Turkish partner in LUCIA — a 48-month project with 22 partners across 9 countries focused on understanding lung cancer related risk factors and their impact.

The consortium's goal is to improve the early diagnosis and management of lung cancer by examining individual risk factors in depth — to enhance prevention strategies, provide policy recommendations, assist screening programmes, improve diagnosis and enable precision medicine approaches.

The consortium focuses on three topics: individual risk factors (lifestyle, pollutant exposure); external factors (urban/built areas, traffic, climate, socio-economic aspects); and biological reactions (ageing, genetic, epigenetic and metabolic changes).

In this comprehensive project Emoda leads the task of capturing lifestyle and wearable-device data and visualising it via end-user mobile apps, while contributing to data ingestion, integration and harmonisation, geo-referenced patient cohort stratification and visualisation, and AI modelling of risk factors.
